G. Lawrence Rarick Research Award
A written statement and vita needs to be provided that documents to what extent the nominee has contributed to research activities for the advancement of adapted physical activity or recreation for individuals with disabilities.
Individuals nominated must be recognized as a research scholar in the area of physical education/recreation for individuals with disabilities as evidenced by the following indices:
- A distinguished record of research systematically directed toward specific questions that has helped advance knowledge in physical education/recreation for individuals with disabilities
- Authorship of data based articles published in refereed journals or monographs of national or international significance
- Research that has undergone refereed review and meets criteria established by academia
- Research presentations at international, national, and regional professional meetings
- Direction of student research (theses and/or dissertations) dealing specifically with physical education/recreation for individuals with disabilities.
