Nominations submitted after this deadline will not be accepted unless the Awards Committee requests additional clarification for an already submitted nomination.
Approximately May 1, 2026.
Award recipients will be invited to the awards presentation ceremony at the NCPEID Annual Conference in July.

Claudine Sherrill Lifetime Achievement Award
The Claudine Sherrill Lifetime Achievement Award is designated for senior scholars/professionals with at least 20 years of service in the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity.
Hollis Fait Scholarly Contribution Award
The Hollis Fait Scholarly Contribution Award recognizes an outstanding professional for their distinguished record of scholarly productivity in the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity.
William A. Hillman Distinguished Service Award
The William A. Hillman Distinguished Service Award recognizes an outstanding professional for their exemplary record of service in the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity.
Congressional Award
The Congressional Award recognizes individuals or organizations for their outstanding record or effort on legislative reform, policy, or contributions that resulted in significant changes in the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity.
G. Lawrence Rarick Research Award
The G. Lawrence Rarick Research Award recognizes individuals for their scholarly contribution through distinguished research in the field of physical education and/or physical activity for individuals with disabilities. Recipients may be from related disciplines; however, their research must make a clear contribution to the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity.
David P. Beaver Professional Young Scholar Award
The David P. Beaver Professional Young Scholar Award recognizes early-career professionals (within seven years post-graduation) who have demonstrated strong dedication to the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity through professional service and scholarly dissemination of their work, including publications, presentations, or other professionally recognized means.
Emerging Scholar Award
The Emerging Scholar Award recognizes outstanding scholarly research and applied
contributions by graduate students in the field of adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity. The award is presented annually to one doctoral degree (Ph.D.) student and one master's degree student pursuing graduate studies in adapted physical education and/or adapted physical activity
