2025 NCPEID Annual Conference
The National Consortium for Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities (NCPEID) will be hosting the 2025 NCPEID Annual Conference on July 10-12, 2025 at Hyatt Regency Crystal City.
We invite your submission for a proposal at our annual conference. Submissions are now open for poster presentations, free communications, round table discussions and emerging scholars symposium. Types of Sessions
Poster Presentations:
- Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
- Posters should present current research, or most current research related issues such as advocacy, professional development, or other areas.
- Poster presentation proposals should include the following sections and/or headers: Title; Authors, Affiliation, Contact information; Introduction/Purpose; Methodology; Results/Discussion; Summary/Conclusions
- The poster should be constructed digitally on a one page powerpoint (or other) slide.
Free Communications Presentations:
- Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
- Free communications should be centered on research, best practices, advocacy, grant seeking, or other areas. The free communications should be formatted as a 15-20 minute oral presentation that will presented to the entire audience of attendees.
Round Table Discussions:
- Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
- Lead one 20 to 30-minute collaborative discussion with a group of the conference attendees. The Roundtable Discussions be appropriate in the area of a) Adapted Physical Education (PK-12) or b) Adapted Physical Activity. The Roundtable Discussions are intended to collate and/or build resources (i.e., white papers, position statements, shared ideas) to enhance the organization’s stance and current major issues in the profession. When submitting your proposal, please identify which area (APE or APA) you would like to be considered for during the review process.
Emerging Scholars Symposium:
- Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words
- This session is dedicated to students and practitioners who are new to but actively engaged in the research process and are seeking feedback from scholars in the field.
- Note: The lead author accepted for the Emerging Scholars Symposium will have the conference registration fees waived.
- Emerging Scholars Symposium will be designed in the following format:
- Students or practitioners orally presenting their research in progress to the entire audience (3-5 min per presenter).
- Followed by a 30-minute breakout session format where the emerging scholars receive additional feedback and inquiries individually from audience members.
- Proposals should include the following sections and/or headers: Title; Authors, Affiliation, Contact information; Introduction/Purpose; Methodology; Preliminary Findings/Results/Discussion (if applicable); Summary/Conclusions (if applicable)
